Pisces Archive

An independent research archive dedicated to Emilio Pucci menswear and Mediterranean resort culture.

About

A Mediterranean Archive

Pisces Archive is an independent research collection dedicated to documenting Emilio Pucci menswear and the cultural landscape that shaped it.

Often overshadowed by the house's womenswear, Pucci menswear reveals another chapter of twentieth-century Italian fashion — one shaped by travel, leisure, modern design and the Mediterranean.

Through garments, printed matter, photography and ephemera, the archive connects objects with the places, people and ideas that gave them meaning.

This is not simply a collection.
It is an archive of knowledge.
The Archive

From Objects to Knowledge

Every object is treated as the starting point of a research process.

01

Collect.

Garments, printed matter, textiles and ephemera enter the collection through careful selection and provenance review.

02

Document.

Each object is measured, described and recorded with its labels, materials, construction and condition.

03

Photograph.

Consistent archival photography captures silhouettes, prints, details and traces of use.

04

Research.

Objects are connected to dates, collections, places, people and the wider culture of Mediterranean leisure.

05

Catalogue.

Records bring together imagery, references and metadata in a structured research system.

06

Preserve.

Storage, handling and conservation decisions protect each object while respecting its material history.

07

Publish.

Selected findings are shared through essays, visual studies and editorial projects.

Each garment, textile and archival material is documented together with the historical, visual and cultural context that gives it meaning.

Collecting is only the beginning. Knowledge is the true archive.
